Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Unprecedented rainfall has battered Dubai, causing extensive flooding and severe disruptions across the city. Over the past 24 hours, the city has received an entire year's worth of rain, resulting in torrential downpours that have transformed roads into raging rivers.
Major highways have been inundated, leading to abandoned vehicles and widespread traffic delays. Homes and businesses have also been submerged in water, forcing residents to evacuate and causing significant damage to infrastructure. The city's airport has even diverted arrival flights due to the extreme weather conditions.
According to local authorities, over 120 mm (4.7 inches) of rain fell on Tuesday alone, with more heavy rainfall expected in the coming days. The National Center of Meteorology has issued weather warnings and urged residents to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
