Tampa Bay Rays Zack Littell Minnesota Twins Pitcher Injured List

Rays' Zack Littell to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery

Rays' LHP Zack Littell is headed to the injured list with left shoulder soreness

Littell was 3-1 with a 4.13 ERA in 34 games this season

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Zack Littell will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, the team announced Tuesday.

Littell, 28, was placed on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder soreness on August 15. He has not pitched since Aug 13 against the Minnesota Twins.

In 34 games this season, Littell has a 3-1 record with a 4.13 ERA. He has struck out 52 batters and walked 19 in 41 1/3 innings pitched.

The Rays will now be without one of their most reliable relievers. Littell has been a key part of the Rays' bullpen for the past two seasons, and his absence will be a blow to the team.

The Rays are currently in first place in the American League East, but they have been struggling as of late. They have lost six of their last 10 games, and they are now just 1.5 games ahead of the New York Yankees.

The Rays will hope to get Littell back healthy for the 2023 season. He is a valuable member of the team, and he will be a big part of their success in the future.
